Part 4. Dylan Bigby, of Retired Belts.

The unique design of Retired Belts utilizes used Randonneur tires, making them both an aesthetically pleasing accessory and giving them a functional purpose. The resilience of the tires enables you to carry your U-lock(s) in between you and the belt without stretching out over time. The use of high quality brass snaps replaces a belt buckle, which might become uncomfortable in a riding position. The belt develops similar wearing characteristics of leather, becoming smoother, softer and shinier over its lifetime.
Each retired belt is one-of-a-kind, customized exclusively for the owner. This belt is a symbolic representation of track bike riding in San Francisco, as they are re-purposed from tires gifted from skillfully exceptional riders, many of them Macaframa riders. The individually distinct skid patterns on your Retired Belt reflect each riders’ experience on the tire and their ventures through the city.
